The philosophy

The field of 21-cm Epoch of Reionization theory and measurement has always had a strong history of analysis, computation, and precision. Large, statstics-driven code bases have become the standard amongst pathfinders and precursers to the Square Kilometre Array. We want to futher encourage growth and scientific collaboration by bringing together the software developers, the mathematical analysists, and the future users to the Code Exchange (CodeX).
By tagging along with already established conferences, we hope to minimize our carbon footprint.

Who is Invited

  • Software Devs

Come showcase your code base and gain more users. Tutorials, installation help, community practices ... the floor is yours.

  • Innovative Thinkers

Have an idea that you want to throw at the community? Come test the computational feasibility of your new mathematical technique.

  • Early Career Researchers & PhDs

Hit the ground running by spending more of your time analysing and less of your time debugging a new code base.

Our first meeting was held the week after the SKAO Science Meeting 2025 in Görlitz, Germany. This three day workshop included tutorials on MWA and LOFAR processing pipelines. These tutorials, along with their associated discussions, are linked below. There were also many other discussions and progress; please see the Meeting Summary for more details, tutorial links, and future ideas.

Future Meetings

We are currently taking suggestions for meetings in 2026.
Ideally, there would be a significant portion of experts from at least two separate collaborations
meeting in the same location for a larger conference. Please send your suggestions to nichole.barry@unsw.edu.au.
